It's Hard To Be A Teacher . . At Times!!!!

My job has taken me on an emotional/stressful roller coaster so far this year, happy days, heart breaking days and the list goes on. So it was a relief to have a fun day last Friday, the last day of term. Earlier that week an email was sent out asking for people to attend the V8 Supercars on the last day of term, me being the big car racing fan that I am not, thought I would put my hand up just in case no else wanted to go.

The XXXX Racing Girls

Just my luck, I got picked. I didn't dread it but I wasn't exactly looking forward to it. I thought it would be boring, but to my surprise it was fun, chasing autographs, famous people and hanging out with my best mate Hawka.

My main man Hawka!!

We took 120-130 students who had a good start to the year out, I was the most senior staff member and was in charge, everything went smoothly and they all had a good time.

I got alot of autographs of people I don't know and met Olympic Gold Medalist Steve Bradbury and TV Star Grant Denyer. I also yelled at a Brooks student for hitting Hawka over the head!!!

It was a fun day, but car racing is still for people who can't catch a ball!!!!

It's On!!!

Hodgey - Norm Smith

Once again it is time to hate!!!! Hate those other 15 teams in the AFL. Only 4 days until the season starts and to say I am excited is a big big understatement!!!

NAB Cup Special

But once again all we here is Geelong this, Geelong that, blah blah blah. Oh I forgot "THEY WON THE NAB CUP"!!! That makes absolute no difference, now I guess they are now in the company of Carlton and St Kilda. Now on Friday it is a Grand final rematch, if the cats wi they will carry on about how they gotrevenge, but considering some of our key players are injured they have nothing to brag about, but then again they wont win anyway, losers!!!

Dipper

That brings me to the "all mighty" Pies, what a great team, they beat a half strength Eagles (finished 15th), a half strength Richmond (finished 11th) and Essendon, but they are supposedly genuine contenders. Contenders for a mardi gras maybe, but not the flag!!!!!! They proved in the NAB final how good they weren't.

Hodgey

Anywy I am totaly pumped for this year, I already have purchased all the 2009 cards off ebay, started a2009 scrapbook and have planned to see 5 games at the G this year. Unfortunately the only way is down for the hawks, but buddy will kick 150 or moreand break Huddo's record.

Huddo

In this pst are some new wallpapers I have made for my computer, most are old school, mainly because during the off season I have watched a number of old grand finals and read books, mags and old clippings.

Peter Knights - My all time favourite

Feel free to use any of these, but I took hours creating all these so please do not distribute them or re-posting them.

You Don't Need Buddie's, When You've got a Roughead!!!

This past weekend life has returned to normal, i.e FOOTY'S BACK and so are THE MIGHTY HAWKS. Hawthorn were in town for the NAB Cup game against Melbourne. I had contacted the club to try and get a member of the team to present our Prefects with their blazers, but unfortunately Luke Hodge was committed to other engagements until 3:30 and school would be out. The club did however give each Prefect a double pass to the game!!

On the Friday afternoon we traveled down to Aurora to watch the players train. You can read about it here. Fellow Hawk Stalk members Kylie, Patrick and Lauren were there with us. Lauren still denies that she wants my autograph, but I know the truth. They were lucky enough to meet the players, but we had to leave early and missed out!:(

The next afternoon was game time, 1st vs 16th (from 2008), we were missing 9 premiership players and a number of others. We had a young team but thought we would have enough firepower to beat them. As hard as I tried to treat it like a NAB cup game, I just couldn't, a game is still a game.

Before the game I went to the fence to take a number of photos and was lucky enough to be given a premiership cup tie pin from one of trainers. Harri tried to score it for himself when I got home.

The game didn't start too well, the Dees played alright in the first three quarters, the Hawks looked like the didn't care, except for Roughy and Stokesy. We lost Ozzie and Changa during the first haland Youngy got reported, but he has been let off.

Jalen lost interest during the second and third quaters, but bounced back to life in the last. The Hawks came from 4 points down to win by 3, with Roughy kicking the winning goal with 5 seconds left. I did carry on during the game, slamming down the flag with every dody free kick and at one stage yelling out "Why don't you try winning outside Februay!!!".

All in all a dodgy game turned out pretty damned good, the Hawks now play the pre-season specialist Carlton, it will be a tough game.

All I can say is DAMN, I LOVE THIS GAME!!!

Do You Think They Will Know Who I Go For?

After every holidays my desk get a bit of a makeover, any new photos or knick knacks go up or around my desk.So as of today this is how my desk looks. I sure hope the students will know what team I support.

The poster is laminated and stuck to my desk, only place I had space!!!

This is how our bedroom should look! At least then I would be too busy looking at Hawthorn stuff to want to do anything else, that way we would both be happy!! :)
